Ruth has been working at YAC since the day it opened in 1992, assuming the role of owner/manager ten years later, following her father’s retirement from the business.

She also spent over a decade active in angling politics, representing the community on varying issues through a number of local and national committees, until the formation of the Angling Trust in 2009.

Charly started working for YAC in 2003 at the tender age of 16.

He spent his teenage years as a keen carp angler, however in recent times mainly due to family commitments, he has directed his angling interest to short sessions on local rivers.

Martin joined the YAC team in 2002. As local lad he has always fished in the Yateley area and amongst his standout captures, in 1985 he landed the elusive “Parrot” at 39lb 12oz which stood as the Copse Lake record for 30 years. His time on the Yateley Car Park was rewarded in 2011 with the capture of “Arfur” at 45lb.

Ian joined the YAC team in 2020. Has fished for over fifty years, initially focused on match fishing then transitioned into carp fishing. In 2006 he qualified as an Angling Trust level 2 angling coach and set up a coaching company called Smart Carping Limited. Ian is a Chub/Greys sponsored angler. Ian's fishing knowledge and coaching skills means he is always keen to help and assist customers get the very best from their fishing hobby whatever level they are at.   

Doug joined the YAC team in 2023. Having fished for over 20 years Doug enjoys all aspects of the sport. He lives locally and loves his Carp fishing but can also been found enjoying the banks of the River Blackwater and River Loddon fishing for Barbel and chub.

Callum joined the YAC team in 2023. Callum loves his predator fishing and can often be found on the banks of the Thames and his local lakes hunting down 'Big Stripey's'. His PB for the species stands at an impressive 4lb 10oz which saw him awarded a Weekly Drennan cup. Callum is our Livestock Manager or also known as the Saturday Maggot Boy.
